DARIAN + LESLEE

"Love knows no boundaries & no distance;
miles & obstacles mean absolutely nothing in the face of love."

When I first found out that my brother had decided to join the coastguard, I wasn't too happy. I couldn't put in my mind that he was grown up and wasn't a little boy anymore. I was worried he would get hurt and I was upset that someone might possibly yell orders at him. Yes, I am completely over protective of my family.

I am glad I kept these feelings from him because I am now a proud older sister.

Ever since I was out of high school, I had to learn to be away from my family. Although my brother went away for bootcamp, it was already a feeling I was used to. I know this is just the beginning of a long journey for him. I couldn't begin to tell you the feeling other people might feel when their loved one is gone for months to a year at a time fighting for our country. I respect their strength, courage, and unlimited amount of faith.

I'm so glad that Darian & Leslee were reunited recently. I know it doesn't feel any better each time they separate, but they did tell me it does get easier. In a couple of months, they will be reunited once again. :)

OH BABY!

"People are always asking about the good old days.
I say, why don't you say the good now days?"

On my recent vacation to Tennessee I took hundreds of photos, so expect the next few posts to be dedicated to just that. I had an amazing time off work, and pretty much everything else here in San Diego. I am a strong believer in "getting away" once in a while if you want to keep your sanity. It's always nice to just really relax with no worries, even if it's just for a couple weeks. I already cannot wait until our next trip!

Not only was my baby brother graduating from bootcamp, but my step mom was a month away from delivering her new baby boy! I was able to get  a few shots of her & her cute belly. I just wish I had more time to capture a few more shots of her. Either way, I am so excited for my baby brother to arrive. There is officially 10 of us now. Sometimes I forget how HUGE our family is.

HELLO, EAST COAST!

“I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts,
there can be no more hurt, only more love.”

I'm currently sitting in my hotel room in South Carolina and decided to give you guys a little update on my vacation. Saby, Franklin (our pup), & I flew into Tennessee last week and are now with the family in Fort Jackson for my brother's bootcamp graduation. Tomorrow's his graduation, and I am so excited & very proud of him. I remember when I used to have to tutor him for math after he would get out of school and now he's a grown man ready to take on this new journey into his new life. *tear*.. Today was family day. It was nice spending time with my family, but it was a long and tiring day for us.

Tomorrow night we will be heading back to Tennessee, and will be welcomed with an enormous amount of snowwwww! Before we left to South Carolina, it had just stopped snowing and we had to leave this gorgeous winter wonderland, but luckily it will be waiting for us when we get back :) I wished to see falling snow in TN, and we experienced it firsthand. A thousand snowflakes came falling down on us, and within a couple of hours my dad's home was completely white. Although I know a lot of people are not happy about this weather, I'm really going to miss this place.

So, since I won't be taking a vacation like this until September, I really wanted to spend my time relaxing with my family. But, I couldn't help but give you guys at least one sneak peek of the photos taken during our snow day. Below is a picture of my sister Mya. She is very energetic, witty, very smart, and sweet.

And, this is our Tennessee home. (Dad's backyard)
